Marcus “Mack” McGloflin, Jr., 79, passed away July 16, 2023, at New Albany Health and Rehab. He was a 1965 graduate of Thaxton School. He served as constable of Thaxton and surrounding areas for 8 years, worked as a carpenter, and was a bus driver and worked in maintenance at North Pontotoc School for several years. He never met a stranger and was liked by everyone and was willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, never missing a fish fry, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his brother, Lemuel Smith of Oxford, MS; sister, Carolyn Williams of Arcadia, FL; 6 sons, David McGloflin(Lisa), Daniel McGloflin(Katie), Matt McGloflin(Sophia), Jamie McGloflin(Shauna), Michael McGloflin, and John McGloflin(Jessica); 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus McGloflin; his mother, Ira Tackett McGloflin; and 15 siblings.
Services will be Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Joey Swords officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18th 5-8PM and Wednesday, July 19th 1PM until service time. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be D.J., Eric, and Aaron McGloflin, Jaylin Slack, Eli Young, and Josh McGloflin.
