“DRUG BUST & ARREST
$750,000 worth of ICE confiscated
Federal Warrant served on Christopher Lamar Carroll
On March 1, 2018 agents with the Colbert County Drug Task Force, Colbert County Sheriff’s Office, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Lauderdale County Drug Task Force, Franklin County Drug Task Force, Muscle Shoals Police Dept., Sheffield Police Dept., FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force, U.S. Marshalls, and the DEA interdicted a shipment of crystal methamphetamine in Muscle Shoals. Agents stopped a gold Jeep Cherokee driven by Christopher Lamar Carroll (AKA “PeeWee”) in Muscle Shoals and recovered 17 packages of crystal methamphetamine (ICE). Each package weighed just over 1 pound each and were wrapped in a manner to make detection by Police K-9 dogs more difficult. The estimated street value of this seizure is over $750,000.
Christopher Lamar Carroll, age 38 of Sheffield, was charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and at that time was temporarily released on a $50,000 bond. Yesterday, March 14, 2018 this combined Task Force of agencies served a Federal Warrant on Christopher Lamar “PeeWee” Carroll at a residence in Sheffield. Carroll was transported to Huntsville and is currently awaiting a detention hearing.
The Colbert County Drug Task Force cannot say enough to THANK the agencies that assisted in this investigation that began in February. Along with the combined agengies listed above we also would like to thank the Colbert County D.A.’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force is based in Florence, AL and is comprised of narcotics Agents from Colbert, Lauderdale, and Franklin Counties. These Agents are Federally Deputized and work closely with the FBI, DEA, and ATF Agents to identify and Federally prosecute locally based organizations and the criminal subjects they are comprised of.
These Agencies dedicated an enormous amount of manpower and resources to see the operation through to a successful conclusion. This investigation remains ongoing and other indictments and arrests are expected.”
