DECATUR– On Sunday, February 1 a man reported being robbed at gunpoint in the 2100 block of Westmead in Decatur. Here is how the Decatur Police department describe the events leading up to the arrest of one suspect:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On February 1, 2015 at approximately 10:10 pm, Ofc. Tori Moseley with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a robbery call in the 2100 block of Westmead St SW Decatur, AL 35601.
The victim, Justin Talavera reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by a black male identified as Timothy Warren Griffin Jr.
On February 6, 2015 Ofc. Shawn Holmes and Ofc. Jasmin Ferizovic located Timothy Griffin at a local business in Decatur, AL. Timothy was transported to the Decatur Police Department.
Det. Joshua Fisher placed Timothy Griffin under arrest for Robbery 1st Degree, a Class A felony. Timothy was escorted to the Decatur City Jail where he was charged and booked in for Robbery 1st Degree. Timothy will be held at the Decatur City Jail until his bond is set.
Timothy is 17 years old but will be charged as an adult pursuant to Alabama Law.”
