Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash Near Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, February 27 that has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash at approximately 1:25 a.m. Sunday, February. 27, has claimed the life of a Russellville man.

Jamie D. Huggins, 45, was fatally injured when his 2003 Ford F150 he was driving left the roadway, struck a bridge rail, and overturned into a creek where it became submerged in water. Huggins, who was not utilizing his seat belt, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Franklin County 44 near the Alabama 24, approximately three miles south of Russellville. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
