Joshua Caleb De La Hoz
FLORENCE-Joshua Caleb De La Hoz, 19 has been charged with Sexual Abuse First Degree after a 911 call to a dorm room on the Campus Of the University of North Alabama.
According to court documents De La Hoz entered the dorm room of a student and offered her alcohol. The two were drinking when he proceeded with sexual advances. After refusing the sexual advances from De La Hoz the victim said` he held her down on the bed and assaulted her leaving bruises on her thighs and neck. The incident happened on February 14, Valentines Day.
Police investigative reports say that De La Hoz said he put his hand on her throat but “didn’t squeeze that hard.”
Court records show De La Hoz as an employee of UNA.
Charges against De La Hoz are as follows:
Felony first-degree sexual abuse
Felony domestic violence strangulation/suffocation
First-degree unlawful imprisonment
Underage drinking
Underage sale/permit of alcohol
Interfering with domestic violence emergency call
A court date has yet to be set in this case and De La Hoz is being held in the Lauderdale County Jail on a $51,000 bond.
