DECATUR-Child abuse charges levied against a Decatur man. Here is how the Decatur Police describe events leading up to the arrest of one man:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On March 2nd, 2015, at approximately 10:17am, Morgan County Central Dispatch received a call of an assault at 1709 Beech St SE, Decatur. Officers from the Decatur Police Department responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, the Officers found a (3) three month child suffering from an oblique spiral fracture to the upper left arm.
The injuries appeared to be intentional.
A joint investigation was conducted by the Morgan County Department of Human Resources and the Decatur Police Department.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that the child was being cared for by her (20) year old father, Damein D’Juan Clark when the child was injured. These injuries amounted to abuse as defined by the Alabama Criminal Code
On March 11th, 2015, Damein D,Juan Clark was placed under arrest for Child Abuse.
Det. De Leon met with Circuit Judge Jennifer Howell and she set Damein’s bond to $25,000.00 dollars. He was booked into the Decatur City Jail and later transferred to the Morgan County Jail.”
