Benjamin Franklin Terry Jr

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement concerning the arrest on Saturday, March 4.  The suspect was arrested and charged with theft by deception:

“Saturday evening Benjamin Franklin Terry Jr was arrested on a warrant for theft by deception second degree.

The warrant was obtained by Investigator Jonathan Caldwell after the police department received a complaint about Terry using a company account for his personal use.

The company is Grantham’s Heavy Equipment. Between December 26, 2016 and January 14, 2017 Terry used a credit card a total of six times at Auto Zone for auto parts totaling $1957.53.

Terry does not work for Grantham’s and I have no information how Terry got the credit card.

Terry was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail. “
