Mamie Louise Chandler – Obituary

Funeral service for Mamie Louise Chandler, 85, of Decatur will be Sunday, March 9, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Patton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Chandler, who died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Decatur Health & Rehab, was born October 12, 1928, in Limestone County to Samuel Leander Mason and Floy Mills Mason. Mamie gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a longstanding member of Somerville Road Church of Christ. She was the first and only manager of the snack bar at G.C. Murphy in Decatur. After leaving G.C. Murphy, she was employed by One Hour Cleaners on Holly Street where she worked until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, H.C. “Cap” Chandler; two daughters, Brenda Tapscott (Paul) and Glenda Morris (Larry); grandchildren, Regina Livingston, Tim Morris (Jennifer), Jennifer Harding (Pete), Chris Alexander (Terri), Cassandra Morris, Jeremy Morris and Jason Morris (Jenny); great-grandchildren, Josh (Samantha), Tyler (Megan), Mason, Raven, Hunter, Camen, Bryce, McKinley and Dustin; and great-great-grandchildren, Jakayla and Landon.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
