The funeral service for Rev. Malcolm Robinson, age 88, of Ashland, will be held Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Watkins and Reverend David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Rev. Robinson passed away Saturday May 18, 2019 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, graduated from Bibb Graves High School, served for two years in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, worked in insurance sales and was also a self-employed heavy equipment operator while preaching the gospel over 55 years at several churches in the area. He enjoyed teaching Bible School and having Bible study and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Rev. Robinson is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jackie Yates Robinson; his daughter, Sandra Crawford of Ashland; two grandchildren: Sonya Cragford (David Evans) of Sylacauga and Shane Crawford of Lineville and one great-grandchild, Ethan Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Elige Leonard Robinson and Mary Jane McCain Robinson, two sisters and 3 brothers.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday from 12:00 until service time at 2:00 P.M.
