Malcolm Dwight McKinney, age 70, of Shelbyville, TN passed from this life on Saturday, October 7, 2023, Vanderbilt-Bedford Hospital.
Born on June 22, 1953, in Loretto, TN, he was the son of the late William Author and Ester Ellen Lancaster McKinney. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Billy McKinney; and sister, Joan McKinney. He enjoyed reading, attending church, taking walks and sitting on the front porch and people watching.
He is survived by sister, Dale (Garland) Bates of Shelbyville; nephews, Marty Bates and Levi Bates; nieces, Summer Bates and Shelley Bates; also, caregivers, Crystal Fuller and Sandra Garrett, also multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins in St. Joseph, TN.
Per his request, he chose cremation and no public serves held.
Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family.
