Maggie Sue Kendrick Self, 89, passed away on February 21, 2025 at her residence in Starkville, MS. She was born November 21, 1935 in Clay County, MS to the late W. L. and Bobbie Wofford Kendrick.
She was a cosmetologist for 47 years and a self-employed cosmetologist for 44, owning He and She and Hair Design. She was also a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Self was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Howard Dewberry; and grandson, Reggie Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Allen (Bo) H. Self of Starkville, MS; sons, Gwenn Dewberry (Susan) of Baton Rouge, LA, Ronnie Dewberry (Kathy) of Steens, MS, Ken Dewberry (Sandra) of Brandon, MS, George Self of Pensacola, FL, and Kenneth Self of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Teresa Karen Turnipseed (Keith) of Starkville, MS; sister, Pattie Kendrick Hartness of Starkville, MS; brothers, Gerald Kendrick and Rex Kendrick, both of Starkville, MS; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Michael Sanders will conduct the service. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Starkville, MS.
