Mae Nell (Nash) Vires was born on September 29, 1938, to the late Carl and Maggie (Wright) Nash in Finger, Tennessee. She passed way on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at NHC Oakwood.

In addition, to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Vires, daughter Freda Turner, brother Joe Nash, and very special friend Bobby Eldridge.

She is survived by her son Charles “Bo” Vires Jr. (Annice); daughter Cindy Vires; granddaughter Brandy Becquet (Archie); granddaughter Courtni McCrory (Brad); great grandson AJ Becquet (Megan); great granddaughter Raegan Becquet; three great great granddaughters, Madilynn, Emmalynn and Amelia Becquet who were the absolute joy of her life; brother Max Nash of Selmer, TN, and sister Pasty Case of Jackson, TN.

Momma retired from Heil Quaker after 28 years where she was known for her unwavering work ethic and incredible dependability. During many of those years, she was also employed with Big K and Walmart. Anyone who knew her, knew that she had a green thumb and would spend many hours planting flowers and mowing her yard. She did so up until she was 83. She was a worker!

If you ever visited our home, you knew she was a great cook of all the southern comfort foods and there was always plenty of food. You never left hungry! She made the best homemade biscuits ever!

The family extends their deepest thanks to her care team with Gentiva Hospice and Oakwood Nursing home for their great care of her and our family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Shiner’s Children’s Hospital.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Maggie Jones Methodist Church Cemetery in Finger, TN, with burial to follow.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
