Madison Police arrest subject for YMCA car burglary

MADISON-The Madison Police Department charged 34 year old Ellis Cooper of Huntsville today with breaking into two vehicles parked at the Hogan Family YMCA in Madison. The vehicles were entered on March 18th and March 31st of this year. Both times a window was broken and the target was a purse left in the vehicle. Cooper was charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering an Automobile and one count of Theft of Property 2nd Degree. He was placed in the Madison County Jail on a $7500 bond.
The Madison Police Department has noticed a seasonal increase in car burglaries and would like to remind citizens to lock their car doors and not leave items of value inside vehicles.
