Madeline Irons Green, 94 of Florence, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 at Morrison Funeral Home in Central Heights/Florence with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Brad Campbell will officiate the service. The burial will follow in Canaan Methodist Cemetery.
Madeline was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a true homemaker, an excellent cook, especially fried chicken, dumplings, dressing and banana pudding. She was an avid gardener, her green thumb was evident by her vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed fishing when she was able to go. Madeline was truly selfless, always thinking of others. She will be remembered for her encouraging cards that she was faithful to for birthdays, graduations, and special occasions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loye William Green; parents, George and Maude Irons; son, Daniel Green; great-grandson, Ryan Young; seven sisters and five brothers.
Madeline is survived by her children, Kathy Carter, Joey Green, Jenny Fulmer (Mike), and Jerry Green (Lynn); grandchildren, Leigh Ann Walker, Melanie Cohoon, Jeremy Carter, Jennifer Kelley, Matthew Taylor, Hope Kirby, Michael Fulmer, Stacy Glover, Chris Rousseau, and Steve Green; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chandler Peters, Brian Cohoon, Brian Walker, John Kelley, Wayne Green, and Jeremy Carter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Irons, Will Irons, and Robbie Green.
