Madeen Mitchell Petree – Obituary

Madeen Mitchell Petree, 85, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. She was born Dec. 7, 1932, in Franklin County, Alabama. She was retired from Blue Bell and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Services will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 1 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama, with Brother Roger Wood and Brother Neil Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Site Cemetery, Red Bay, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by four daughters, Fredia Rice, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Bonnie Gober (L.T.), Red Bay, Alabama, and Sarah Terry (Dan) and Shelia Woods (Danny), all of Russellville, Alabama; grandchildren, Julie Rice, Jana Rice, Jamie Kirksey (Paul), Leslie Thorne (Michael), Greg Gober (Lauren), Stephanie Rogers (Neil), Tiffany Bohannon (Bradley), Angela Woods, Allison Woods, and Anna Woods; one stepgrandchild, Jennifer Lowe (Leonard); nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Mitchell (Joyce), Arlie Mitchell (Minnie), and Ted Mitchell (Margaret); and sisters, Joyce Garrison and Chris Goins (Gordon).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcell Petree.

Pallbearers will be Paul Kirksey, Michael Thorne, Neil Rogers, Bradley Bohannon, Ryan Boyd, and Randy Strickland.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama.
