Funeral service for Reverend Mack Carter, 88, will be Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Blackwood and Rev. Troy Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Rev. Carter died on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 9, 1925, in Lawrence County to Thomas Pendleton Carter and Bertie Mae Wilhite Carter. Mr. Carter was a very loved husband, father and grandfather, with a host of loving friends. He was a World War II Veteran, and the Fire Chief of Battleground Fire Department for 30 years. He also was a lifetime member of the DAV and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Warren, Cecil, and Sam Carter and twin brother, Jack Carter, and two sisters: Edith Rosa Carter and Nellie Holladay.

Survivors include :
his Wife, Velma Humphries Carter

Two Sons:
Gary Carter, (Valerie) and
Tim Carter, (Becky)

One Daughter:
Judy Carter Hulsey, (Kenneth)

One Sister:
Ona Holladay

Seven Grandchildren:
Gregg Carter,
June Bennett,
Melanie Carter,
Derek Hulsey,
Misty Templet,
Emily Latham and
Dustin Carter

A host of Great Grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Grandchildren.
