Mabry Lewis Green, age 92 of Huntland, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Francisco, Alabama on February 7, 1930, to the late Herman and Eugenia Green. Mabry served his country in the United States Army. He had been employed by Interlake Steel in Illinois before retiring from the Wilton Corporation in Winchester in 1995. Mabry was an avid gardener, and he enjoyed playing dominos, writing in his journal, and hunting for arrowheads, as well as cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a lifelong member of Beech Grove Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Princeton, Alabama. A devoted father and papa to his family, he will be remembered for his fun-loving nature and devotion to his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Ray; and brothers, Elvin Green and Milford “Pete” Green. Mabry is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Peggy Sue (Brooks) Green of Huntland; children, Marsha (Ronnie) Worthen of Huntland, Cathy (Sam) McCord of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, Mike (Lisa) Green of Belvidere, Sandra Sims of Huntland, Daniel (Tracy) Green of Murfreesboro, and David (Michelle) Green of Enterprise, Alabama; grandchildren, Chastity (Rodger) Paradise, Brock (Melissa) Worthen, Jennifer (Josh) Vandiver, Eric (Maranda) McCord, William Mayes, Lenzi Black, Derrick (Jamie) Sims, Lauren (Daylan) Steele, Ashley Green, Savannah Green, Dakota Green, Kayci (Rory) Hubbard, Erica Tucker, Christian Tucker, and Joshua Green; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Paradise, MaKayla (Bailey) Gowan, Morgan Worthen, Peyton (Carson) Keeter, Lyla Vandiver, Ali and Molly McCord, Hillary Black, Addison and Tristen Mayes, Blake, Baylor, and Bo Sims, Hudson and Brantley Steele, and Mabry Hubbard; and siblings, Elvis Green, Janice Miller, and Ethelene Devers. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at11:00 am on Friday, September 2, 2022, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Joseph Sheehy and Bro. Rodger Paradise officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery with military honors bestowed and Brock Worthen, Eric McCord, Derrick Sims, Dakota Green, Joshua Green, and Christian Tucker serving as pallbearers and Josh Vandiver, Rodger Paradise, Daylan Steele, Bailey Gowan, Carson Keeter, and Blake Sims serving as honorary pallbearers.
