Mabel Taylor “Gran” Pierce of Russellville, was born May 14, 1924, to the late Harry and Pearl Bagwell Taylor. She died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Papa” Pierce; brothers, Durwood and his wife, Elizabeth “Mama Taylor” and David and his wife, Beulah Taylor; son, Harold David “Piercey”; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wayne Woodruff; grandson, James Herston; and great-granddaughter, Savannah Brooke Herston.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Reggie Herston; grandchildren, Wendy Sandusky and her husband, Michael, Angie Thorn and her husband, George, John Herston and his wife, Allison and Amanda Hickman and her husband, David; 11 great-grandchildren, Greg and his wife, Brittney, Rachel, Rio and her husband, Rodney, Aaron and his wife, Carley, Eric, Linden and her husband, Robert, Alexander, Isaac, Clair, Ian, Eli, and Taylor Cate; four great-great-grandchildren, Riley, Reanna, Raya, and Maddox; and by nieces and nephews and many adopted families.
There will be a memorial service today, June 5, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russellville, Alabama.
