Lynne Farr Evans Reynolds, 81, Sheffield, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. The visitation will be Friday, January 19, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Victor Colton officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Lynne was a native of Tuscumbia and a member of Tuscumbia First Methodist Church. She graduated from Deshler High School in 1960 where she was crowned Miss Deshler High School. Lynne has maintained a close relationship with her high school friends, who would meet regularly. She later graduated from Florence State Teacher’s College and taught in Ocala, FL and Bainbridge, GA before returning to the Shoals in 1978. Lynne retired from teaching at Sheffield Junior High School.
She was co-owner and operator of Southern BBQ in Florence where she worked alongside her husband, Bill. For the last almost 2 years she resided at The Neighborhood at Sheffield where she made and reconnected with many friends. Lynne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Lynne was preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Bill” Reynolds; son, Michael Farr Reynolds; and parents, Cecil Clement and Martha Elizabeth Farr Evans.
She is survived by her children, William H. “Bill” Reynolds, Garner, NC, and Beth Reynolds Person and husband, Joe, Charlotte, NC; sisters, Martha Ellen Skinner and Jane Evans Cole (Dennis) both of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Austin May, Baylee Reynolds, Gabby Reynolds, Lucy Person, Ellie Person, and John Person; niece, Erin Springer (Brian); and nephew, Evan Skinner.
The family extends special thanks to Lynne’s caregiver, Rose, and the staff of The Neighborhood at Sheffield.
