Lynn Thomas Patterson (Tom) left this earthly life on May 28, 2020 while doing what he loved, working with his plants. Tom was born on August 28, 1941 in Houston, Texas where he lived until his college graduation from university of Houston with a Bachelors Degree in 1967. In 1982 he earned a Masters of Business Management from Amber University in Dallas, Texas. In Houston, Tom met the love of his life, Barbara Susil, and they wed 6 months later sharing an active life of over 55 years, participating in community activities, traveling, and raising a loving family. He is survived by Barbara, daughter Dorothy Patterson Estrada, son Jordan Estrada and Anthony Estrada (Jessica) and great grandson Benjamin Patterson. Also surviving are siblings Patricia Patterson Davis, Sherry Purcell, and Robert Patterson. He is predeceased by mother Marie Newlin Patterson and father Robert G. Patterson. Tom was employed by Kraft Foods in Garland, TX, Atlanta, GA, and Memphis, TN for 25 years, then spent 8 years at Sam’s Town Casino in Tunica as a blackjack dealer. His life in Texas and Georgia included service with the Jaycees organization in leadership training and community service projects. After retiring to Iuka in 2000, Tom took the Master Gardeners course and found a new creative outlet and many friends. He served the Helpful Samaritan Food Pantry for many years, both as an officer and a worker. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. There will be no public services.
