Shirley Roper, 74, of Somerville, passed away on December 23, 2017. She was born on June 28, 1943 in Washington, D.C. to parents, George and Margaret Pitman. Lynette graduated from Washington and Lee High School. She will be missed by her loving husband and caring son.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Lynette is survived by husband, Joseph R. Roper Sr. and son, Joseph Roper Jr.

We shared many wonderful moments. Lyn was a good friend to everybody she met and a wonderful sister-in-law. She was a warm and friendly person who was also very, very nice. She was also very kind hearted – a kind, loving and caring person that God placed on this earth who touched the hearts of many. She also loved God’s little animals. Lyn will be deeply missed.
