Lynda Gail Oliver Welch, age 72, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center.
Lynda was a wonderful wife, mother, and Mamaw to her family. She enjoyed the times spent with her grandchildren making TikToks, dancing with them when she was able, and was always there supporting her kids and grandchildren in whatever event or sport they were involved in. Over her life, she worked at Kelwood, retail sales such as Burkes, and Catfish Haven where she always made wonderful friends. She loved watching the Gameshow Network, The Voice, but especially Days of Our Lives. Lynda would do anything for anyone she could. She was a strong little lady that will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Chris Welch (Vanessa), Tina Bragwell, Dustin Welch (Kara); grandchildren, Laken Gilliland (Justin), Lara Briggum, Lexi Barakat (Malik), Chandler Welch, Kenner Scott, Mia Ambrosio, Madden Welch, Bella Welch; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Bragwell and Greyson Gilliland; siblings, Mitchell Oliver (Denise), Shelia Rogers (Cecil), Steve Oliver (Sandy); in laws, Sherron Kay Oliver, David Welch, Margaret & Ed Sumeral; and a host of nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Welch; parents, Travis & Hazel (Turbyfill) Oliver; brothers, Tommy Oliver, Dewayne Oliver; and father & mother-in-law, Jr. & Retha Welch.
Her visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Sammy Taylor officiating the service. The burial will be at Belgreen Cemetery.
The pallbearers Shannon Oliver, Brandon Oliver, Jason Oliver, Bryan Rogers, Darrell Sumeral, and Justin Gilliland.
