Lyle Pickens, 71, died peacefully at his lake home in Arley, Alabama on December 10, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; son, Brandon; sister, Cheryl Allen (TA); four nieces, five nephews, numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Louise Pickens, and son, Ken Pickens.
A graduate of Decatur High School (1965), Lyle earned a BS degree in Building Science from Auburn University. Though he enjoyed many successes in the corporate world, his true joy was when he returned to Decatur to open a General Contracting business, Lovelace and Pickens, later retiring from Baggette Construction. Above all, Lyle was a devoted husband and father, who approached life with a gentle and humble nature. He was firmly rooted by a strong spiritual connection to his God. He quietly shared that by the way he lived his life, compassionately and honorably; a life well lived.
