Lydia Lee Hand McBrayer Morris, age 97, of Tuscumbia, died Friday, February 15, 2013. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Spry Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Rod Stansky officiating. Burial will be at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Vinemont, AL. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Underwood Mountain in Tuscumbia. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death in 1986 by her husband, Otto E. Morris; sons, William Preston McBrayer and Leonard Lanston McBrayer; 6 brothers, and 4 sisters. She was the last survivor of the 11 children. Granddaughter, Melissa Kay Oliver; Grandsons, Gary Marshall Miller and Jessie James Gilliland; and Great Granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Woods. Mrs. Morris is survived by her daughters, Elsie McBrayer Gilliland of Strongsville, OH, and Shirley McBrayer Oliver Nelson of Sheffield; and her sons, James Lee McBrayer and Johnie Nolan McBrayer both of Tuscumbia. She is survived by 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
