Luther “Luke” Dasson Knipe – Obituary

Luther “Luke” Dasson Knipe, age 71 of Tanner, Ala., died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Decatur General Hospital. Mr. Knipe was born March 30, 1942 in Hughes Spring, Texas to D.K. Knipe and Edna Brown Knipe. Mr. Knipe was a retiredU.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant. He was also a country western musician.

He is survived by his wife Cathy McCain Knipe; two sons, Luther D. Knipe, Jr. and wife Becky of Denver, Colo. and Johnn Knipe of Niceville, Fla.; two stepsons, William Crunk and wife Naomi of Athens, Ala. and Steven Crunk and wife Erica of Rogersville, Ala.; one brother, Teddy Knipe of Quitman, Texas; six grandchildren, Luther D. Knipe III, Matt Knipe, Heather Blanchard, Troy Knipe, Jr., Koti Crunk and Carson Crunk. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Troy Knipe; one brother, Dock Knipe; one sister, Jean; father and mother-in-law, Albert (Sam) and Theuts McCain.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Danny Pettus officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Harvey, Jack Landers III, Michael Vandiver, Jason Vandiver, Zachary Lier and Jeremy McInnis.
