Memorial services for Mr. Luther “Dee” Mills, age 72 of Ashland, will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Jerry Mills speaking.
Mr. Mills passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Brookwood Medical Center. Born in Luverne, AL, he spent several years in Clay County where he raised his family. He was a veteran, and worked as an Executive Manger in the U.S. Postal Service for over 40 years. After retiring, he also worked for Planters Hardware.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Mills of Ashland; two children: Heather Trailer (Shaun) of Calera, and Jamie Mills of Ashland; his mother, Molly Messiack; grandchild, Caden Trailer; two brothers: Roy Mills (Pat) and Jerry Mills (Sheila); two sisters: Hope Wilkerson (John Frank) and Rena Russell (Joe).
He was preceded in death by his dad, Luther Dean Mills, Sr.; his son, Michael Mills; and his sister, Olivia Synder.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorial contributions to be made to help assist with funeral expenses.
