Luther Davis Jr., age 80, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, from 1-3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel, Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, with burial to follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Brother Ben Hayes and Brother Michael Jackson.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his son, Gary Evan Davis, and son-in-law, Troy Johnson.
Survivors are his wife of 58 wonderful years, Betty Davis; sons, Matthew Van Davis (Angie), of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Joey Dale Davis (Elisha), of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; daughter, Lecia Davis Johnson, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; grandchildren, Madilyn, Logan, Carter and Max; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers and dear friends are Wilburn Credille, Hillard Murray, Leon Davis and Reese Harrison.
Mr. Davis was a veteran and retired from Ford Motor Co. and General Motors. He was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ, past member of National Guards, former president of Webster PTO, former president of the Muscle Shoals Lions and a private airplane pilot since 1977.
