Funeral service for Lula Fowler Garnett Keel, 88, of Hartselle will be Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Randy Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Keel, who died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born February 5, 1926, in Morgan County to William Harvey Fowler and Etha Elizabeth Weaver Fowler. She was formerly employed as a personnel director for Decatur Utilities and was a longtime member of Lebanon Baptist Church where she taught many, many years of Sunday school classes and served on various commitees serving God in many different ways. She loved her church and that was her family. She was preceded in death by her
husbands, Raymond E. Garnett and Howard Keel; brothers, Gilbert, Oliver and Albert Fowler; and her sisters, Ella Speegle, Lois Tapscott, Myrl Fowler and Mary Riethmaier.
Survivors include her caregiver and nephew, Mike Garnett and his wife, Lanett of Hartselle; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family members.
