  Lucy Lea Crawshaw Vedane, 79, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully at her home on February 7, 2018, with her loving husband by her side.

She is the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Book Crawshaw and Carl Crawshaw. She is survived and will be missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Chuck Vedane; her three children, Scott Vedane of Allen, TX, Becky Vandiver (Phil) of Madison, AL, and Kyle Vedane (Caryn) of Greenville, SC; and her brother, Bill Crawshaw (Marilyn) of Florissant, MO. She is blessed with six grandchildren, Jake, Erica, Caroline, Keith, Anna, and Tori; and many nieces and nephews.

Born in East St. Louis, IL, on May 31, 1938, Lucy was a 1956 graduate of East St. Louis High School. From there, the adventure of her life really began. She married her beloved Chuck on March 21, 1959, and together they began their life in Huntsville.

Lucy loved her Lord, her family, embroidery, painting, and bird watching. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as a member of bell choir, the Cokesbury Sunday School class, and a 4K teacher. She volunteered with Project Discovery and the Methodist Service Center on Seminole Drive. She was a past president of both the Huntsville chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America and of TOPS. She was also a member and past president of the Huntsville Culture Club.

She fought a long, courageous battle, and her family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the talented staff at the Clearview Cancer Institute and the Huntsville Family Hospice Care team for their care and support.

A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 607 Airport Road, Huntsville, AL, on Sunday, February 11, 2018. The family will receive visitors from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Narthex. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m., officiated by the Reverend Mitchell Williams. A reception will follow in Wesley Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church music program.
