Lucinda2Lucinda Martin, 70, of Flint, MI, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Flint, MI. Ms. Martin was born June 5, 1944, in Iuka, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Arthur Carter and Sarah Johnson. Ms. Martin was a member of Living Body of Christ Ministries. She was employed for many years at the Tishomingo Shoe Company. Ms. Lucinda was a loving person who had the biggest heart in the world. She was caring, kind-hearted, and loved to laugh. She loved listening to music, playing solitaire, talking to friends, and visiting the internet café. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, at First Baptist Church in Iuka. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is entrusted with arrangements. She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Patricia Martin, Shelia Martin, Stonnie (Patreycia) Martin Jr., Sonya Martin, and Demetrius Martin; her grandchildren, Shateena (William) Thigpen, Tasheena (Travoris) Loveless, Quinisha (Marquis) Johnson, Teshia Fordham, and Jazmin Martin; her great-grandchildren, Aniyah Thigpen, Alahnah Thigpen, Tahron Loveless, Marquis Johnson Jr., and Jaylen Johnson; her siblings, Frankie Allen, Lillian Brock, Willie Carter, and Billy Carter;and a sister-in-law, Joann Montgomery. Ms. Martin is also survived by a special niece, Mei Carter; her nieces & nephews, Alyshia, Nathan Allen, Eugene, Anna Louise, Vanessa, Willie Jr., Terell, and Lamell; two aunts, Retha Gamble and Fannie Bennett; two cousins, Harry Frank Bonds and Teresa Nell; and a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends Mattie, Birdie, Marilyn, Geneva, Ms. Miller, Latrell Person, Lela Harvey, and Denise Yarbrough. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Johnson; a grandson, Deonta Martin; a sister, Arthur Mae Carter Crider; and a brother-in-law, Charles Allen.
