Lucille “Tootsie” Jacobs Ricketts age 94, of Florence, died Thursday, September 5, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday, September 7 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jim Holland officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Lucille was a member of York Terrace Baptist Church of Sheffield where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years, WMU director, and faithful prayer warrior for family and friends. Truly a woman of God and a beautiful example for her entire family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Riley Ricketts; sister, Vivian Harvey; brother, Lonnie Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Sherrie Ricketts; niece, Kathy Berry; and nephew, Bill Jacobs. Survivors are her children, Sandra Barnett (David), Charles S. Ricketts (Norma Jean), Donald Ricketts (Linda), Larry Ricketts and friend, Linda Kanipe; sister, Mavis Smith. 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, 3 great-nieces, and 2 great nephews. A special thanks to the staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth station 4, and also, to Southern Care Hospice with special thanks to Shawna Stanfield. In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Terrace Building Fund.
