Lucille Rollins Scott – Obituary

Lucille L. Scott8, 94, of Hodges passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Russellville Hospital. Mrs. Scott was born to John William Rollins and Josie Lee Oliver Rollins on May 20, 1919, near Vina in Franklin County, Alabama.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2014, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hodges, Alabama. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Brother James Nichols and Brother Dan Hindman. Burial will be in Old Line Cemetery.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Ed Scott; sons, Wathel Scott and Ed Scott, Jr.; her parents John and Josie Lee Rollins; three brothers, Oscar Rollins, Albert Rollins, and Neal Rollins; sister, Velma Rollins Scott.

Mrs. Scott is survived by one daughter, Gloria Herring LeMay (Tal), Russellville; one sister, Louise Rollins Ewing of Belmont, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Michael Scott (Chele), Greenville, South Carolina; Michele Scott Morgan, Crestview, Florida; Jennifer Herring Bishop (Michael), Russellville; David Scott (Amanda), Decatur, Jill Scott Buchanan (Barry), Muscle Shoals; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A devoted wife and parent, Mrs. Scott was known as an excellent cook having served many delicious meals to her family through the years. She loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Scott had a passion for gardening and flowers which she freely shared with family and friends.

Mrs. Scott was a longtime, devoted and faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Her love of the Lord was passed down to her children and grandchildren by example of the excellent Christian life she lived and the many prayers she offered on behalf of her loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, David Scott, Tim Scott, Michael Bishop, Barry Buchanan and Tal LeMay.
