Lucille Muncie Hedricks – Obituary

 Lucille Muncie HedricksLucille Muncie Hedricks, age 89, passed away Saturday, February 2,
2019, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice in Albertville. She was born
November 23, 1929, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Nealie Muncie and
Rosalie Carroll Muncie. She grew up in Glendale, Kentucky and was a
member of Gilead Baptist Church. Upon graduation from Glendale High
School, she traveled to Alabama to enroll in a nursing school to become
a nurse. Prior to her graduation from nursing school, she met and
married John L. Hedricks and became a full-time homemaker. She lived
in Guntersville and then later moved to Blount County. She was living in
Cleveland, Alabama at the time of her death. She enjoyed collecting
recipes, working with flowers, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Hedricks, her
daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Hedricks, her brother, Wilbur Muncie,
and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Washburn
(Mike), daughter, Mary Beard (Will), son, John Lewis Hedricks (Paula),
grandchildren, Chris Chaney, Jennifer Chaney Hineman, Heather
Washburn Carty, Brian Washburn, Matt Washburn, John Tyler
Hedricks, and Kelsey Hedricks, and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, February 4, at Carr
Funeral Home in Guntersville with Dr. Larry Gipson of First Baptist
Church, Oneonta, Alabama officiating. Burial was in Haney’s Chapel
Cemetery in Guntersville. Pallbearers were Chris Chaney, Brian
Washburn, Matt Washburn, John Tyler Hedricks, Ty Washburn, and
Danny Hineman. In lieu of flowers the family request donation may be made in honor of Mrs. Hedricks to Shepherds Cove Hospice.
