Lucille Erma Slaten, 106, died on July 18, 2016. Her graveside service will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. Brother Guy McDaniel and Brother Wayne Collins are officiating.
Mrs. Slaten was preceded in death by her husband, Leldon Day Slaten; and husband, Erwin Terry; daughter, Mary Virginia Slaten; brothers, George and Eugene Collins; and sisters, Christine Cross, Edna Bea Cross, and Alma Cross.
She is survived by her son, Joe Lewis; special friend, Carol Harris; and ten nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Slaten was an avid doll collector and had quite the collection. She also loved sewing and loved decorating her front yard each Christmas with lots of lights.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Brad McAnally and staff; the staff of Gentiva Home Health, Kim, Melissa, Amanda, and Lana; Hospice of the Shoals, Kasie, Michelle,and Amy; and caregivers Carol Harris and Darlene Belue, Kim Sharpston, Robin Bratcher, and Schenell Hankins.
Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur is assisting the family.
