Lu Martin-Novay – Obituary

Lu Martin-Novay departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 22 days. She was born in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, on April 25, 1930.

Lu graduated from Treadwell High School, class of 1948. She lived in Memphis, Tennessee, most of her life, was a small business owner and a member of Leawood Baptist Church. Lu retired from Target Corporation where she was a bookkeeper. She loved flowers and loved her cat “Oreo”.

She is survived by her children, Connie Stricklin and her husband Mike of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Lee Martin and his wife Tammie of Rossville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Larry Boone of Collierville, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Lu was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Lee Martin; her second husband, Stanley Novay; and sisters, Mary Ann Clark and Nancy Jean Boone.
