Graveside service for Loyd William Gillespie, age 69, of Somerville, will be Friday, March 13, 2015, 2:00 p.m., at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Rev. Barry Sempsrott officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Gillespie, who died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at his residence, was born December 23, 1945, in Huntsville to Lawson J. Gillespie and Katie Adams Gillespie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three sons, William Gillespie of Chattanooga, TN, Gwendel Gullion of New Hope, and Roger Gullion of Decatur; two daughters, Dale Nixon of Decatur, and Diane Crawford of Falkville; one brother, Austin Gillespie of Lawrence County; four sisters, Mary Davenport Graye of Decatur, Lola Holt of Falkville, Faye Whitt of Athens, and Katie Gillespie of Decatur; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
