Lowell Walker Sr. was born May 25,1933 in Pontotoc, Ms to the late Sanders and Lula Walker. He passed away on September 7, 2019. He was 86 years old. He was united and Holy matrimony with Lorene Verner Walker unto this union one child was born Lowell Walker Jr. He was well known in the community and the city and was dedicated to his work and family. He loved fishing , encouraging, and mentoring many young people. He was employed at Stoned Container (retired), LP Mcartly , Reed Mfg., Tupelo Water and Light, Penn Tire, and a farm worker for Mr. A.T White. He united with College Hill Church, later he joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Chesterville, and then joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. He was a faithful member until his health weakened him. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene Verner Walker, six brothers: Sam Walker, John Walker, Hobbie Walker, Henry Walker, JC Walker, and Willie Ross Walker. Two sisters: Luevinnia Wilson and Sallie Mae Ellies, and one daughter in law Ruby Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories two sons: Pastor Lowell Walker Jr. (Jacklan) and John Johnson ; (1) sister Linda Bell, Verona, Ms, (15) grandchildren, (28) great grandchildren, (6) great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Special cousin Henry Pinson, special friends Carl Jackson, Bonnie Betts, and Ms. Jessie, special family the late A.T White and family, and a host relatives and friends.
He was known as “Papi” “PawPaw” and “Granddaddy.”
