Mrs. Lounelle Morris Grissom, age 94, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 in Jackson. She was born August 2, 1931 in Henderson County to the late W. F. and Mae Washburn Morris. She was the oldest member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a nursery worker for many years. She was a former employee of Salant/Salant, retired from H.I.S. in Saltillo, worked 20+ years at the Election Office, as well as working at Big Star. In the 1950’s, she was a worker at the Chester County Saddle Club. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork, wildlife, and just being outside.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Carl E. Grissom; her daughter, Dianne Reed and husband Ken; her daughter-in-law, Martha Grissom; and two brothers, Waymon and Leon Morris.
Survivors include her son, Mr. Carey Grissom; her two grandchildren, Wade Reed (Shannon) and Julie Bogardus (Jason); five great grandchildren, Madison Williams (Jake), Rogan, Asher, Callum, and Eden Bogardus; and three sisters-in-law, Faye Morris, Adrienne Lindsey, and Sylvia Grissom.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Friday, December 5, 2025 at Unity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at Unity Baptist Church from 12 – 2 PM.
