Louise “Nadine” “Maw Maw” “Sis” Mayo Martin, age 88, of Nashville, formerly of Greenbrier, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at NHC Place Sumner in Gallatin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Saturday, December 17, 2022 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11am until time of service at 1pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin was born January 17, 1934 in Greenbrier to the late Clarence Robert “C.R.” and Addie Marie Ogg Mayo. She was a loving wife and mother. She worked as a receptionist for Roesch Patton Funeral Home and also worked at Baptist Hospital for many years. She was known for her sweet spirit and joyful smile. Mrs. Martin’s house was a gathering place for her kids and grandkids from all over the country. She was also known for making the best scalloped potatoes and the love she had for her little dog “Chippy”. She was a life-long Elvis fan until she heard Vince Gill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Rufus Martin in 1983; granddaughter, Brooke Nadine Cosgrove Grunnet; and a grandson, Joshua Martin Robbins.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her children, Deborah Nadine (Robert) Cosgrove-Sawyer, Mona Martin Robbins, Eric Douglas (Lori) Martin and Gregory Scott (Kimberly) Martin; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
