Mrs. Louise Kershaw, age 87, of Florence, passed away Wednesday night, October 17, 2012, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth.
The visitation for family and friends will be at Elkins Funeral Home, Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ric Camp and Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Florence Cemetery.
Mrs. Kershaw was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She had been a member of the Jacksonburg Home Demonstration Club. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Florence and was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. She served others as a Sunday school teacher and Church Librarian.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Robert Kershaw, Jr.
Mrs. Kershaw is survived by her daughters Naomi Louise Kershaw and Cynthia Beth Kershaw, both of Florence; sons Robert Vann Kershaw and wife Jimmie Faye of Greenwood, Louisiana, and Kenneth Warner Kershaw and wife Doris of Killen; grandchildren Keith Kershaw, Michael Kershaw and wife Shannon, Patrick Kershaw, Ethan Kershaw, and Russell Kershaw; great-grandchildren Michael Kershaw, Presley Kershaw, Jacob Kershaw, Kennedy Kershaw, and Alexis Kershaw; a niece Gena Nye of Memphis; a nephew Jim Kershaw and wife Louise of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Keith, Michael, Patrick, Ethan and Russell Kershaw, and great-grandson Michael Kershaw. Honorary bearers will be Steve Abston and Jim Hillhouse.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
