Mrs. Louise Henderson, 91, of Fort Payne, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her home. She was born February 14, 1931 in Cherokee County, Alabama to the late Hosmer Terrell Coleman Hunter and Odessa Bell Franklin Hunter. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church for 70 years.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Oscar Williams, Taylor Henderson and Don Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home and Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. hour of service at Mt. Moriah.
She is survived by her sons Johnny Henderson and wife Annie and Tommy Henderson and wife Wendy; step-children Linda Watkins, Patsy Robertson, Nancy Smith and husband Mike, and Stevie Watkins; sister-in-law Betty Hunter; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of step-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Henderson in 1992 and later husband Buster Watkins; sons Larry Henderson and wife Patsy, Bobby Jan Henderson; daughter Jeannie Gorham; siblings Hoyt Hunter, JW Hunter and wife Joyce, and Betty Traffenstedt and husband John; and grandchildren Lori Henderson and Justin Gorham.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
