Louise Felicia Goodwin – Obituary

Louise-Goodwin-1457532774Miss Louise Felicia Goodwin, age 97, of Columbia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at NHC Hillview.

Louise was born in Maury County, Tennessee on July 22, 1918 to Will Washington Goodwin and Jewel Blanche Craig Goodwin. She was a seamstress and retired from Dixie Manufacturing Company. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews. Known for her loving concern and delicious cooking, she had a special recipe for each family member. Miss Goodwin was a member of First Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Louise is survived by several nieces and nephews: Jimmy (Irene) Davis of Mt. Pleasant, George (Margaret) Davis of Columbia, Judy (Chuck) Rogers of Nashville, Terry “Die Hard” (Debbie) Davis of Columbia, Mike (Dianne) Davis of Columbia, Louie (Beth) Dunn of Columbia, Linda Blakely of Columbia, William Goodwin of Texas, Martha Sutliff of Columbia and Deon Goodwin of Bon Aqua; and numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Will Washington and Jewel Blanche Craig Goodwin; and siblings: Marion Craig Goodwin, Douglas F. Goodwin, George K. Goodwin, Mary W. Davis and Margaret A. Dunn; and niece: Mary Louise Davis.

Funeral services for Miss Goodwin will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Bro. William Owens and Bro. Gary Wedgewood officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Matthew Dunn, Shane Davis, Mike Davis, Will Davis, David Dunn and Chuck Rogers will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to give a special thank you for their loving care to Cassie, Matthew and Carey and the staff of NHC Hillview, Maury Regional Medical Center, Dr. Couch, Dr. Chandler, dear friends: Debbie and Dennis Turner, Mildred Durham, Sharon and Michael Mitchell, and Renee and Brian.
