Loucile Putman, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away peacefully at Morningside of Belmont in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday, December 11, 2017.
Loucile was retired after a long career of service from the Office of now retired District Attorney General for Tennessee’s 22nd District Mike Bottoms. During that time, she was also a long-time member of the Pilot Club of Lawrenceburg, and Tennessee Democratic Women where she held several local and statewide leadership positions for both organizations over the years. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg for many years.
Loucile loved and cared for her family especially her nieces and nephew from several generations to whom she was their other grandmother. She attended their ballgames, performances, high school and college graduations, weddings and hosted big family meals for every holiday and special birthdays.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Estelle Roach Putman and Billy P. Putman; sisters, Clara Putman (Chester) Dotson, Lois Putman (Andy) Flannigan and Christine Putman Swafford; brother, James “Bud” (Shirley) Putman, niece, Margaret Putman Callahan and nephew, Jack Putman.
Loucile is survived by her sister, Elise Putman (Ronald, Sr.) Sellers; brother-in-law, Joe Swafford; nephews, Billy (Joanne) Dotson, Ronald (Martha) Sellers, Jr., Randy (Heather) Sellers, Brian (Laura) Sellers, Andy (Cindy) Putman; nieces, Linda Susan Sellers (Bennie) Arp, Pamela Putman (Rick) Eatherly, Laura Sellers (Eddie) Caylor, niece-in-law and special care-giver, Carolyn Svetkovich Putman; and a host of great-nieces and nephews including Wesley and Casey Putman of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2017. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice and acknowledgements may be sent to Mrs. Ronald (Elise) Sellers, 2205 Harris Circle NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
