Lorraine W. McCasland was born on October 25, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late William and Minnie Wilcocks.
On December 1, 1961, Lorraine was united in marriage to Marvin Earl McCasland. Together, they shared a life full of love until his passing on October 28, 2013.
Lorraine worked for Knights Inn as a night auditor. She found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially on family trips together. A few of her favorite places to travel were Disney and the beach. In October of 2023, she was officially the oldest individual to ever go through the “Paranoia Haunted House” in Canton, Georgia.
Lorraine departed this life on January 18, 2024, at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 24 days.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Allen McCasland and his wife Patty of Falling Waters, West Virginia, Douglas Earl McCasland and his wife Tammy of Savannah, Tennessee, and Laura Kaye Slate and her husband Troy of Canton, Georgia; grandchildren, Julian Alexander McCasland, Lucas McCasland, Felecia Allen, Kristin Brown, Cassidy Brown, Tyler Slate and his wife Danielle, and Kyle Slate; great grandchildren, Jaxon Bowling, Scarlett Rudd, Ariana Rudd, Valor Allen, Rebel Allen, Tanner Brown, and one on the way, Ellis.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Cindy McCasland; and siblings, Elsie Hite, Myrtle Donaldson, and Hilton Yarbrough.
