Lorraine Porter Lorraine Porter, age 79, of Adams, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at StoneRidge Health Care. Graveside services will be conducted at 2pm Sunday, May 24th, in the Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Spain, Emery Spain, Ron Garrison, Dustin Garrison, Brian Rippy and Frank Spain. Honorary pallbearer is Phillip Mantlo.

The family will receive friends from 3-6pm Saturday, May 23rd, at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.

Mrs. Porter was born December 25, 1946, in Robertson County, to the late Fred Griffin and Rosie Smith Hill. She was an Administrative Assistant for the State of TN Human Services Department and a member of Adams United Methodist Church. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lorraine was a member of the fun-loving Robertson County Hillbillies and Mama Rose. Lorraine loved playing the fiddle and loved playing and listening to bluegrass and gospel music. In 2008 and 2009, she placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the senior division of The Grand Master Fiddler Championship.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy Matthew Porter; sister, Christine Strange; brother, Michael Hill; and her beloved dog, Sleepy.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Spain; 2 grandchildren, Mallory and Emery Spain; and a special family friend, Teresa Risher.
