Lorita Gitta Snead Loritta Gitta Snead, née Gressler, was born on April 15, 1955, in Bad Wimpfen, Germany, and passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in Boaz, Alabama.

Loritta was a gifted artist who poured her heart and soul into every piece she created. Her remarkable creativity touched the lives of many and brought joy to all who admired her work. She had a strong personality, a sharp wit, and a stubborn streak that could test anyone’s patience—but those who knew her best also knew her love for her family and friends. Above all, she treasured being an Oma to her grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Gitta Thompson; her father, Ralph Monroe Thompson; and her sister, Judy Ann Windom.

Loritta is survived by her husband, David Edward Snead; her daughter, Erica Nicole Harris (Jaimy); her son, Josh Edward Snead (Courtney); her daughter, Sonja Ilsa Newborn (David); her brother, Peter George Thompson; She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Erin, Jackson, Gabriel, Major, and Ferris, along with many family members and friends who will remember her strong spirit, and unforgettable personality.

Loritta lived life on her own terms, She leaves behind a legacy of creativity, resilience, and a family that will always have stories to tell—and probably a few arguments they’ll smile about someday.
