Funeral service for Loretta Ann Brown Atkins, 68, of Hartselle will be Monday, August 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Reverend Rachel Westmoreland and the Reverend Brian Wilbanks officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Mrs. Atkins died August 2, 2013, at her son Shane’s home in Birmingham. She was born December 2, 1944, in Decatur to the late Martha Brown Roper and the late Robert Brown. She was the secretary and treasurer for Faith Chapel Praise Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, L.B. Roper; and grandparents, Walter and Nettie Brown of Falkville, and Mark and Hannah Haynes of Gadsden.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Shane (Dr. Michelle) Pitts of Birmingham; daughters, Martha Renee Davis and Nicole Danielle Goodwin, both of Hartselle; stepdaughter, Joyce Buck of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, Mitchell (Gwen) Brown of Clarksville Tenn.; sisters, Mattie Clarence Bradshaw of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Barbara La-Theade (Sherman) Earls of Hartselle; grandchildren, Rusty Harris, Kimberly Chayne Alexander, Tatyane Jordan Alexander and Desmond Pitts; stepgrandchildren, Scott Buck, Trent Buck, and Rita Hipple; great-grandchildren, Aryana, Aidan and Zadrian Davis, Avontae Alexander, Ka’veon Ingram, Aaron, Nicholas and EJ Goodwin, and Braiden Harris.
Pallbearers will be Robert Bradshaw, Rusty Harris, Johnny Morton, Trent Morton, Ingiaco Milen, Taylor Baker and Rey Carlson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Faith Chapel Praise Center.
