Roy Logan Lorenzo Columbus “Roy” Logan, Jr. passed on to his Heavenly home at the age of 92 on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his home in Saltillo after a brief illness. He was born April 30, 1931, to L.C. and Lillie Downs Logan in Moorhead, Mississippi.

Mr. Logan served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. Following his military service, he earned the love and respect of his fellow officers and the citizens of Greenwood as the Captain of the Greenwood Police Department. After retiring, he enjoyed working in sales and construction; and was an all-around “handyman.” He worked to revitalize several properties in downtown Tupelo. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tupelo.

Roy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Taylor Logan; three children, Debra Logan Nored of Carrollton, Mary Jane Logan Collins (Daniel) of Saltillo, and John Roy Logan (Samantha) of Saltillo; 12 grandchildren, Ashley Scott (Solon), Meagan Austin (Andy), Kelli Stainback (Andrew), Kathleen Sistrunk (Hayden), Christina Moses, Mary Hannah Hopper (Daniel), Brooke Logan Thrasher (Preston), Lily Rose Logan, John Samuel Logan, Garrett Faulkner Logan, Nicholas Lorenzo Logan, and Julianne Taylor Logan; like a grandson to Roy, Grayson Morgan; 11 great-grandchildren; and special family members, Bill and Emily Coleman of Waco, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be John Samuel Logan, Preston Thrasher, Daniel Hopper, Andrew Stainback, Hayden Sistrunk, Garrett Logan, Solon Scott IV, and Drew Austin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Collins, Solon Scott III, Andy Austin, James Frazier, John Kent, Gary Morgan, Allen Taylor, Marcus Stroupe, Robbie Taylor, Frank Little, Wayne Peacock, and Donnie Posey.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Monday, November 13, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.

A celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Matt Powell and Rev. Ricky Young officiating. A private graveside service will follow in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.
