FLORENCE – Demolition has started on the site of the old DHR_Photos_130213_IMG_7228O’Charley’s Restaurant and is expected to be completed by Saturday, February 16th, according to the supervisor over the demolition crew.  He also stated that once the demolition has been completed, construction will begin on the new LongHorn Steakhouse building and should be ready for occupancy within 120 days.

The LongHorn Steakhouse will be a full-service, casual dining steakhouse serving both lunch and dinner menus.   DHR_Photos_130213_IMG_7226Known for emphasizing high quality, LongHorn appeals to all guests with its distinctive combination of attentive

personalized service and flavorful entrees served in a warm, inviting, comfortable atmosphere.

LongHorn opened its first restaurant in the Buckhead community of Atlanta, Ga., in 1981. Back then it was known as LongHorn Steaks, and it was during Atlanta’s infamous “SnowJam” of January 1982 that stranded motorists (and a local restaurant critic) were lured inside by $1 drinks and food specials. They were won over by awesome steaks and genuine hospitality, bringing the LongHorn name local fame. Today LongHorn operates more than 370 restaurants in 35 states. Some underwhelming news here. We’ve already got Legend’s, Logans, Texas Roadhouse, Dale’s, Outback, O’Bryans, Stanfields, George’s, and I’m sure there are some I’m missing. Where is the variety!
