Lola Pearl Hill Richardson – Obituary

Lola Pearl Hill Richardson, 81, passed away Friday, August 22 at the home of her son after an extended illness. She was a retired nurse’s aide, having worked at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home for almost 20 years. She was born July 27, 1933 near St. Joseph, TN, and lived most of her life in the Greenhill, AL community. She and her husband had moved to Sheffield, AL in recent years. She was a faithful member of Center Hill Church of Christ for over 30 years, then attended Westside Church of Christ in Sheffield after relocating. She enjoyed gardening and especially working in her many flower beds, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Madgie Hill, one daughter Rebecca Denise Richardson, two brothers, Quincy Hill and Hollan Hill, and one sister Shelby Hill Blackburn.

Survivors include:

Husband of 62 years: Alvin “Junior” Richardson

Daughters:

Rene Richardson Lloyd (Bob) – Columbia, TN

Robin Richardson – Decatur, AL

Sons:

Michael Richardson – Sheffield

Anthony Richardson (Montez) – Greenhill

Stacy Richardson (Natalie) – Tuscumbia

Sister: Birdie Hill Clanton – Florence

Brother: Douglas Hill – Greenhill

Visitation will be Sunday, August 24, from 5:00-8:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday, August 25 at 11:00am at Greenhill Funeral Home with burial following at Mt. Zion Church of Christ cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Richards and the staff at Helen Keller Hospital, and Gentiva Hospice for all the care given to our mother.
